Walgreens Buys Duane Reade

Walgreens, the largest drugstore chain in the United States, will buy Duane Reade, a drugstore chain with 257 locations in metropolitan New York, in a deal valued at approximately $1.075 billion. The move will allow Walgreens to expand its presence in the New York City area.
