Reuben Slone has joined Walgreens as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Reporting to President of Community Management, Mark Wagner, Slone will be responsible for distribution, transportation, systems integration and engineering, Lean and Six Sigma supply chain initiatives and community outreach.

“Reuben has deep experience in leading supply chain operations, improving service and efficiency and driving innovation in the management of inventory from distribution centers to the stores,” said Wagner. “He is a great addition to Walgreens leadership team, and we are looking forward to his insights and perspective as we continue to focus on making our distribution system more effective for both our team members and customers.”

Business Technology: Microsoft Reveals Interactive Coffee Table

Sometimes technology leaves me speechless. That’s what happened when I saw Microsoft’s latest project known as a Surface table! By the end of this year, the 30” coffee table will be placed in T-Mobile stores, Starwood Hotels, and Harrah’s Casinos. The digital table reportedly will cost between $5,000 and $10,000. As I watched the video presentation of the Surface table, all I could say was “Wow”, “Incredible”, and “Too Cool!” Ok, maybe I’m a bit of a gadget lover, I admit it. But, I think you’ll find it to be pretty cool, too!
