Reuben Slone has joined Walgreens as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Reporting to President of Community Management, Mark Wagner, Slone will be responsible for distribution, transportation, systems integration and engineering, Lean and Six Sigma supply chain initiatives and community outreach.

“Reuben has deep experience in leading supply chain operations, improving service and efficiency and driving innovation in the management of inventory from distribution centers to the stores,” said Wagner. “He is a great addition to Walgreens leadership team, and we are looking forward to his insights and perspective as we continue to focus on making our distribution system more effective for both our team members and customers.”

Daylight Savings Time Changes in 2007

The Energy Act of 2005 that was approved by Congress will extend Daylight Savings Time by 4 weeks starting this year. DST is set to begin on the second Sunday in March at 2 am ( three weeks earlier) and it will end on the first Sunday in November (one week later). The date changes are being implemented to reduce energy consumption, according to the bill’s supporters. The Daylight Saving Time changes are the result of the efforts of Congressman Fred Upton (R-Michigan) and Congressman Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts).
