Daylight Savings Time Changes in 2007
Friday, February 23, 2007 at 06:00PM The Energy Act of 2005 that was approved by Congress will extend Daylight Savings Time by 4 weeks starting this year. DST is set to begin on the second Sunday in March at 2 am ( three weeks earlier) and it will end on the first Sunday in November (one week later). The date changes are being implemented to reduce energy consumption, according to the bill’s supporters. The Daylight Saving Time changes are the result of the efforts of Congressman Fred Upton (R-Michigan) and Congressman Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts).
