Executive Recruiter Hears the Message: Back Off or Else

In the wee hours of the morning, when the sky is still dark and the air is still cooler, Brett Stevens runs through Atlanta neighborhoods thinking that everyone is still asleep. Well, he’s thinking they should still be asleep, at least. Especially, one Atlanta inhabitant that waits for him to run past his house every morning.

Brett Stevens Training Update:

While running my “course” (6.8 miles per lap) at 5 a.m, I have to run through a small neighborhood almost a square mile around the block. I run that loop twice in 1 lap.

Today while running the loop twice (almost 14 miles), I was greeted by a rather large dog who seems to have his training program going.

We raced at 5:15 am
Then again at 6 am
Then again at 6:15 am
And finally again at 7:30

Four times this morning, he chased me, while barking wildly. Thankfully, he appears to be limited to running along the perimeter of his home. I am really starting to like invisible fences! Although, I’m not so sure if the neighborhood feels the same way. A barking dog at 5 a.m. every morning…hmmm…no, I doubt that the neighborhood enjoys our run as much as we do. It will be interesting when I start running this course 3 times every morning and my “friend” runs with me and barks six times a day! Oh well, race day is coming soon and I’ve got miles of training left to do! Stay tuned for further updates!
