Executive Recruiter In Atlanta: When You're Hot You're Hot!

Summertime and the living is easy. Well, that may be true, unless you live in Atlanta or one of the other “hot” cities in the U.S! With temperatures sky rocketing to over 100 degrees in Atlanta, Brett Stevens, President of The SearchLogix Group, may be the “hottest executive recruiter” in the U.S! If you haven’t been following the series of articles about what Brett Stevens has been up to lately, you can still read them by clicking on the articles link under the “You’ve Got Mail” section of our sidebar. Or you can click here to go there now, if you prefer. :)  If you’re already aware of Brett has been up to these last few months, you can see how he’s progressing with his goals by reading his latest update to me below.

heat%20map.jpg“The weather has been tough. It was 83 degrees at 5 am. I run with a “camelbak” hydration system. It’s a basic backpack with a bag in it to hold fluids.

The heat just makes my training much more intense. My mind and legs are strong, but the amount of sweat that I am producing while running in the hot weather makes my training more difficult. The more you sweat, the heavier your running clothes get, which adds to the weight you have to move.

I also lose a lot more body fluid when the temps are high, because of the excessive sweating that occurs. After a training run, I usually spend the rest of my day trying to rehydrate.

Tomorrow is only a 7 mile run, but the heat will make it feel like a 10 miler. I’m hoping that training in this hot weather  will help me in October when I run in the Chicago marathon. I’m happy to say that my fund raising efforts are going well. I am grateful for ALL the people who have donated to the cause. It makes running easier when I think about all the people who have supported me. I can’t stop now. I have people counting on me to “get the job done!”
