Remembering September 11, 2001

uncle sam.jpgToday marks the 5th anniversary of the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. 2,752 of the world’s citizens died that day.  An estimated 500 foreign nationals from 91 nations were believed to have been killed in the trade center attack.  New York state was home to two-thirds of the trade center victims, and 24 other states lost residents.

It is a day to remember those who lost their lives and those who lost their most treasured possessions - their family, friends, and co-workers. It is a day to remind us that we should let our family and friends know how glad we are that they are here to share life with us.

It is a time to realize that we are truly privileged to live in the United States. Let it remind us to be thankful that we live here. The freedoms and opportunities to be “all that you can be” are possible in America.

It is a day to remember the soldiers who are risking their lives to protect your freedom. Let it remind us that without freedom we are doomed to living lives full of fear. Living in fear is not living, it is survival. Ask an Iraqi what life was like when Saddam Hussein was in power. And let it remind us to tell the next soldier we see “thank you for protecting my freedom”.

It is a day to remember the policemen who risk their lives to protect us and the laws of the land.

It is a day to remember the fire fighters who risk their lives to save our own and those we love.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
my home sweet home….
