Success is a very personal thing. However there are some factors that are effective in any situation.

One of the most important success factors is time management. Time is the most precious element in the world as there is no going back and there is no way of stopping it. It is ever moving forward. Effectively managing your time allows you to achieve more in a shorter amount of time.

Another critical factor to success is self-discipline. This is often a great hindrance to the success of many people. This happens a lot to people who are new to running a business as they have so much to do initially. Self discipline is all about doing what needs to be done whether you want to or not. Self-discipline will carry you through he rough patches in your life’s journey and will help you achieve your goals.

Being hardworking is another critical success factor. This includes working harder than is expected in order to reach your goals. Success follows people who put in the effort. The mindset of hard-work prepares you to be successful. When you get used to some level of success, being
successful in the future becomes second nature.

In order to achieve a measure of success in whatever undertaking, it is important to be goal oriented. Make clear goals and set a time-frame for achieving them. It is important for the goals to be doable, have a time-frame to them as well as being able to be measured. Goal setting gives you a reason to act towards success and allows you to see how you are doing.

A persons attitude is probably the most important when it comes to succeeding at anything. Your attitude greatly defines the kind of outlook you will have on a task or problem. A positive attitude in the face of obstacles always helps in getting over the hard times. With the right attitude, no obstacle is too big, no challenge too difficult.

Perseverance is another vital principle in success. This might seem overrated, but most of the financially successful people in the world today all started with very small businesses. They had big ideas but were limited by their financial situations and sometimes the lack of market. The likes of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi also persevered through a great deal of suffering in order to achieve their goals. Perseverance is therefore critical in carrying you through the rough times and ensures you are faithful enough to see the results.

People have often said the difference between winners and losers is desire. Passion drives desire. There has to be a drive behind what you are doing. A lot of people’s businesses would not be profitable in the first 2 to 3 years. By this time the business becomes a passion project. Their passion allows some people to keep on when the going gets tough hoping for a better day in the long term; and they often do. Passion will help you find a way to do what you want to do and make the necessary sacrifices required to succeed.

One of the other vital factors to success is networking. In business, this is widely considered one of the key pillars of success. This is about having contacts that you can use for different reasons in the future. It involves simply building contacts that you can call on at any time to refer or ask for business. Networking is the key in the growth of a company and can help you achieve your goals faster and with less effort.

One of the most vital aspects for success is to plan ahead. Planning involves laying down a work plan of the things you want to achieve and working through the strategies and modalities of its execution. It is said that failing to plan is planning to fail. This is very true and is likely
the reason for the closure of 2/3 of all businesses in their first 5 years of operation. Planning eliminates surprises and allows you to forecast the direction that you want your life to take.

Good health is of paramount experience. This may involve going to the gym or getting into a dietary program. Putting your health first is very important to your results. Health is vital to high performance.

All the best with you future goals and dreams.
