Reuben Slone has joined Walgreens as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Reporting to President of Community Management, Mark Wagner, Slone will be responsible for distribution, transportation, systems integration and engineering, Lean and Six Sigma supply chain initiatives and community outreach.

“Reuben has deep experience in leading supply chain operations, improving service and efficiency and driving innovation in the management of inventory from distribution centers to the stores,” said Wagner. “He is a great addition to Walgreens leadership team, and we are looking forward to his insights and perspective as we continue to focus on making our distribution system more effective for both our team members and customers.”

The Orange and Maroon Effect - Invitation by The Virginia Tech Family

vtech.gifThe Virginia Tech family is inviting everyone across the country to be a part of the Virginia Tech family tomorrow, by asking everyone by becoming part of their “Orange and Maroon Effect”, on Friday, April 20.  Please show your support tommorrow by wearing clothing that is orange and maroon or by wearing orange and maroon ribbons. The alumni and students of Virginia Tech have organized this event so that everyone across the country may participate, showing support for the families of those who were lost, and to the school and community as they begin the healing process.

Local Participation Effort Announced by Area School 

The Mount Paran Christian School has announced that it will be participating in the “Orange and Maroon Effect”. Faculty and students have been asked to wear orange and maroon clothing tommorrow. They also request that you join them in praying for the family, friends, and victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy.
