Gina O’Leary, General Manager of The SearchLogix Group recalls “Puttin’ On The Ritz”
“Ever had your hotel cancel your reservation, five days before your trip? That’s what happened to us, five days before we were set to go on our St. Thomas trip in November 2006. We had planned on staying at The Ritz but their $40 million dollar renovation project delayed our plans. But, two weeks ago, the Ritz comped our stay on the beautiful island of St. Thomas. Yahoo!
When we arrived at the Ritz, we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff with a cold towel and Island rum drinks for each of us. Inside the lobby, Alex Tamas, the hotel’s assistant rooms’ executive, welcomed us, as well. Their customer service at the Ritz is outstanding!
After getting SearchLogix Group business out of the way, we decided to spend the day on the Blue Tang Yacht Charter’s 51 foot Sea Ray! What a day! Eight hours of boating, sunning, and laughing so much my sides hurt! But, nothing hurts for long in St. Thomas when you’re sipping on an island Painkiller, a drink that will knock your socks off!
If you visit the island of St. Thomas, and go on The Blue Tang Yacht Charter boat, I recommend doing some snorkeling while you’re there! The colors of the fish in the waters surrounding St. Thomas are so vibrant, you”ll feel like you’re swimming in a fish tank. Absolutely breaktaking! The food was also outstanding and the service well, it was as good, if not better, than what you’d get on a cruise ship. It’s nice to have your towel folded and handed to you. Yes, it is. And did I mention the Blue Tangaritas? Yum.
When lunch time rolled around, it was time for another swim. This time we had to swim for our lunch! No, they didn’t make us go spear fishing for lunch. Thank God! What they did do was tell us to hop off the boat and swim to the shore so we could dine at The Soggy Dollar! And if all the sun and fun in this beautiful place weren’t enough, we were serenaded by a barbershop quartert. It was like a dream that you never want to end!
As fun as The Blue Tang Charter boat was it couldn’t last forever. Darn. But, we are a resourceful bunch, so it didn’t take us long to find Molly Molone’s (rocking Irish pub and restaurant), a fun place to dance the rest of the night away!”
“If you have the opportunity to visit St. Thomas, I highly recommend it! It’s beautiful, it’s fun, and it’s verrrrrry relaxing!”
