Reuben Slone has joined Walgreens as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Reporting to President of Community Management, Mark Wagner, Slone will be responsible for distribution, transportation, systems integration and engineering, Lean and Six Sigma supply chain initiatives and community outreach.

“Reuben has deep experience in leading supply chain operations, improving service and efficiency and driving innovation in the management of inventory from distribution centers to the stores,” said Wagner. “He is a great addition to Walgreens leadership team, and we are looking forward to his insights and perspective as we continue to focus on making our distribution system more effective for both our team members and customers.”

Top Mistakes that Recruiters and Hiring Managers Make

Suggestions about how job candidates should prepare for a job interview are always a hot topic on the net. Everyone has an opinion about what candidates should and shouldn’t do. But, what about recruiters and hiring managers? What kinds of mistakes should they avoid making to prevent losing a great candidate to another company?

Advice for recruiters when interviewing job candidates:

  • Don’t withhold information about the position.
  • Don’t show up late for the interview.
  • Don’t go to an interview unprepared.
  • Don’t rush through a candidate through an interview. 
  • Don’t ask questions unrelated to the job.
  • Don’t turn treat job candidates like their on the witness stand in a court of law.

Advice for recruiters when interviewing a client:

  • Listen to what your client’s needs are.
  • Then listen to what your client’s needs are.
  • Make sure you listen to what your clients’s needs are.
