Toyota Prius Stumps Georgia's Emissions Testing System

Paying $10 to $25 for an emission’s test with a 2004 Toyota Prius in Georgia will buy you a failed emissions testing status. Prices for inspections vary by the testing station.  Hybrid vehicles like the Prius that produce up to 90 percent fewer tailpipe pollutants than standard non-hybrid vehicles are apparently too energy efficient for their auto emissions testing system!

If you’re the owner of a 2004 Toyota Prius, you may be entitled to an exemption waiver. Find out about Georgia’s emissions testing program at  Georgia’s Clean Air Force website.

Aren’t you glad you bought an energy efficient vehicle? Jeeeesh.

All you have to do is turn on the AC or defrost to keep the engine running. Duh!

I do this at parking garages so the attendants don't get confused.

Cool! Thanks for sharing that tip! You should let the GA Clean Air Force know! They apparently haven't thought about that yet. Seems unbelievable doesn't it... a government program that doesn't work? (grin) Jeesh.

I don't have a Prius, but my sister just got a new Camry hybrid. I'm going to mention your solution to her, just in case she runs in to a problem in MA! Thanks!
